A Bigot and a Racist

Not only is this guy Rev. Wright a bigot but he's a hypocrite. But you can say this about him, he knows the African American community well enough to know that he doesn't want to live near any of them. His new 10,000 sq, ft home (mansion) is on a golf course in a community of "white folks"! You can't make stuff up that is this good! And let's not forget whose "spiritual mentor" he is!

To Know Me is to Love me

Sometimes life is really good and at other times we all know that it can really suck, but all things considered life is good. I have recently come into contact with some old friends that really meant and mean a lot to me. These are all friends that I have had from early in my adult life that until now I guess that had really forgotten. It is now that I see how much they really did mean to me.
I recently lost a good friend obviously through my own actions, but for the life of me I do not know why!? They refuse to communicate to me the reason for their absence in my life and because of that I have been unable to either apologize or explain the reason for what I did or said or whatever! I still don't know what the case is!?
I am using this forum to let all of my current friends and future friends to know that we may not always agree on everything, but the same can be said about my parents and me. That does not mean that I don't still love them or discount their opinions. Life is to short for me to "dislike" someone just because they don't see life through the same looking glass. I hope that all that read these thoughts know that I am a faithful friend even if you know that we don't always agree. I have enough insight to know that we all can't know everything and I am humble enough to say when I am wrong. With that being said, if you think that my thoughts are right or wrong on a subject that means something to you personally, let me know. Who knows, you my be able to enlighten me! I am always searching for more knowledge and if you know something that you think that I may not know about, share it with me!
Maybe coming of age during the early 70's warped my sense of being but I still can't shake the belief that love conquers all.
All men by nature desire knowledge.

The Cat's Journal:
Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fedhash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I wasplaced in solitary confinement in the basement for the duration of theevent.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard thatmy confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of mytormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must trythis again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe, for now.

Corect Puntuation is so important!

Dear John: I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy--will you let me be yours? Jane

It's your fault that I commit crimes!

IT'S JUST MORE OF THE SAME OLD "I'M A VICTIM OF THE EVIL WHITE MAN". AFRICAN AMERICANS USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE FOR NOT BEING CAPABLE OF COMPETEING IN AN EVER INCREASINGLY COMPETIVE WORKFORCE THAT THE GLOBAL ECONOMY HAS CREATED. IF YOU KEEP BLAMING SOMEONE THAT IN TRUTH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR SHORTFALLS THEN YOU WILL "NEVER' MAKE IT IN ANY WORLD UNLESS IT IS A "SOCIALIST UTOPIA"! THE CRIES OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY FALL ON DEAF EARS. THAT IS EXCEPT FOR THE ONES THAT HAVE BOUGHT INTO THE MYTH THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS THE FAULT OF THE "WHITE DEVILS". THEY LIKE TO SAY THAT "POVERTY" IS A BIG CAUSE FOR THE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY PERPETRATED BY BLACKS. THAT ARGUMENT LOOSES STEAM WHEN YOU RUN THE NUMBERS THAT SHOW THAT THERE ARE FAR MORE WHITE PEOPLE IN POVERTY THAN BLACKS. THEN WHY ISN'T THE CRIME RATE HIGHER IN THE POOR WHITE COMMUNITYS? STOP BLAMING EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY ON SLAVERY AND SOME IMAGINED "WHITE DEVIL".

When is a lie a lie?!

We all have heard the cry "Bush Lied" to us the American people. But the cry that we aren't hearing is "Hillary Lied"! She "misspoke" instead. No one in the media has said that "she lied"! These are the same "media' outlets that told us over and over that Bush lied. What's the difference? Oh yea that's right Bush is a Republican and Hillary is a Democrat. This is a lesson that should be put to use by the Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilppatrick and his former chief of staff Christine Beatty. When they go back into court just tell the Judge that they "misspoke". They, just for that split second during the first deposition, remembered it wrong. Since "perjury" is defined as "The deliberate, willful giving of false, misleading, or incomplete testimony under oath", the court won't be able to pin the perjury charges on them! I should get paid for this!

Charlton Heston was a great American

According to his autobiography "In the Arena", Heston recognized the right of freedom of speech exercised by others. In a 1997 speech, he deplored a culture war he said was being conducted by a generation of media, educators, entertainers, and politicians against:
"...the God fearing, law-abiding, Caucasian, middle- class Protestant-or even worse, evangelical Christian, Midwestern or Southern- or even worse, rural, apparently straight-or even worse, admitted heterosexuals, gun-owning-or even worse, NRA-card-carrying, average working stiff-or even worse, male working stiff-because, not only don’t you count, you are a down-right obstacle to social progress. Your voice deserves a lower decibel level, your opinion is less enlightened, your media access is insignificant, and frankly, mister, you need to wake up, wise up, and learn a little something from your new-America and until you do, would you mind shutting up?"

George Bush is the cause of high gas prices

Let's blame someone who has nothing to do with the problem that I am blaming him for. George Bush and the cost of gasoline. Well the fact that OPEC will not increase production of crude oil is part of the problem, yes, but the other side of the coin is the fact that the Democratic Party refuses to allow the evil oil companies to build any new refineries or drill for oil here in America. That must be W's fault as well.
"Energy Conservation" is another red herring. The last time that conservation was proposed by the government and the energy producers we (the Public) did just as the government and producers of energy ask of us and we stopped using as much energy just like they wanted us to. Then the other shoe dropped. Energy prices to us consumers ( who did just what was asked of us ) sky rocketed. The reason given to us by those same energy producers was "the consumers aren't using as much energy" so we must raise the prices that we charge them. The less there is sold the more it cost. Imagine that!
And I don't recall seeing outrage from any democrats when Hillary Clinton (an unelected at the time Hillary) was sued when she spent some 93 million tax-payer dollars on her failed attempt to have the government take over the health industry, and then refused to tell us (the tax-payers) where and how that money was spent. We (the tax-payers) tried to, to no avail.
Blaming someone that has absolutely no control over what private industry does is asinine, and is ignoring the facts that are out there. Unless you choose to ignore them because of some personal partisan bias.

The Wonder of Music

I know that I can't be the only one who knows every word and beat of an old song, and then finds out that it was a number 1 hit when you were just a 1 year old. How did that happen? I certainly don't recall playing the radio way back then. I'm sure though that just like today', songs that were hits, continued to be played for years . So maybe that's how I know every word of the song "Sherry" sung by Frankie Valley. That was a number 1 hit when I was 2 years old! And isn't it incredible how a song can instantly take you back in time? Not physically, but in your mind. Music is so much a part of humanity's quest for pleasure, that I'm not sure I could imagine a world without it. From classical to death metal, we all have something we get from music. I know there are countless others, that have several favorite songs from when we were say, teenagers. The songs from that period in your life, for some reason, seem to be special to us all. And have you ever known anyone that say's, "I don't like music"? I'm sure everyone has known someone that has said that, but think of the great void that this person has by not enjoying music. When you next get a chance, put on a record....... I mean CD, of any music from when you were say 16 years old, and see if it doesn't (hopefully) take you back in time, even for just a minute or two, to when you had the world by it's tail, and just knew that you would live forever. Ah, that's the stuff! Yea, I can feel it right now, can you? Go right now, before you leave this blog, and put on one of your favorite songs from way back, and you will see that I couldn't have been more right. Go ahead, I'll wait........................................Enjoy that, life is short, and we all need something to "get us through the night". "All who joy would win, must share it-happiness was born a twin" That's a qoute from Lord Byron in the book " Don Juan ". Share the joy that you recieve from music, and maybe someone else will see or feel what you do.

Wise Words from Ben Franklin

Recently it has come to every one's attention that African Americans often speak (around the dinner table) of the anger and dislike that they have towards "white" folks. With that being a given perhaps the words of an old man named "Ben" would help diffuse some if not all of this "anger".Ben wrote "Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and crimes from society.I can't help but think that if this were put into practice today that things and conditions would improve dramatically.

Communication Skills

While leaving a Wal-Mart store I was approached by a well spoken young African American lady that ask me to contribute to a fund that would help in the search for missing children. The "missing children fund" sounded like a scam to me but something that did impress me was the communication skills of the African American lady. I instantly knew that this young lady was not from Memphis. Would you like to know how I knew this? It was the way that she annunciated her words. It turns out that my assumption about where she was from was right. This young lady was from New York city.
The great thing about the Liberty that we enjoy in this country is that you can make as much or as little of yourself as you choose. There is no doubt in my mind that this young lady from New York can succeed in whatever she chooses to succeed in because of just the fact that she has great communication skills. I knew this because she " don't be talking like she from around here"!
When the current School Board of the Memphis City Schools continues to ignore the poor communication skills of the MCS students, they are sealing the fate of our young citizens. They will be stuck with low paying jobs simply because they cannot communicate in the world outside of their local African American community. This is not fair to them and it damn sure isn't far to the whole of Memphis! If we continue on this path there will be no way to lower the crime rate or the welfare lines in our city.

Share Good Will

I am always reminded, because of contact with good people, that the world we live in, is really a wonderful place, or at least it can be. When you can have friends that are grounded, it is always possible to bounce back so to speak, just when you think the world has gone to hell. I hope I am not the only one that watches the news and thinks about how nasty humans can be, and are towards one another. Shakespere said " how far that little candle throws his beam! So shines a good deed in a naughty world". Although that is true, it doe's not mean that we should not do any good deeds, just because it doesn't effect the human condition as a whole. The light that each of us is capable of producing is certainly felt by those close to us, and when you can come together, the light that is produced shines alot farther. My wish for all of us, is that we can be a positive force to those that are close, and maybe, just maybe, that force will shine farther than we think. A poem by a man named Moore is a favorite of mine, it goes something like this...."I give thee all, I can no more, though poor the offering be; my heart and lute are all the store I can bring thee." Even though sometimes one might think that just because "your offering" may be small to you, it may be as a pot of gold to someone who needs a " little light " in their life. Shine when you can, but also be aware of the light that is in us all. Your light on someone else, could start a chain reaction, and who knows how far that will shine!? May our creator have mercy on us all. Ralph Waldo Emmerson wrote that "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm", so also should we be, towards the good we all are capable of.

Friends

Sometimes life is really good and at other times we all know that it can really suck, but all things considered life is good. I have recently come into contact with some old friends that really meant and mean a lot to me. Right is Right

When it comes to the discussion of "race" in America there will never be an agreement between blacks and whites until the African Americans see themselves for the racist that they are. Men like Jeremiah Wright and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan are hailed and applauded by the African American community. We know that trying to come to some sort of agreement with people that applaud a bigot will be impossible. Until African Americans see that excluding every other race from their activities and entities is racist while at the same time not allowing any other race to exclude them, we can never have an honest talk or debate about race in this country. When BET and Miss Black America are hailed in a community that will not allow other races to exclude them then you know that the devide between the blacks and whites will never, repeat never, be closed.
During the days of legal Slavery my family were Quakers and never even entertained the idea of owning another human being, but because I am white that doesn't matter. I'm still seen by African Americans as an oppressor. Until the African American Community stops blaming everything from sunburn to sin on the white man and stands up to their own racist views of the world, nothing will change.

Humor

Hillary Clinton called Bill into her office one day and said, "Bill, I have a great idea. I know how we can win back middle America and secure my presidential victory in 2008"."Great, but how do you propose we go about that?", asked Bill.
"Well", Hillary responds, "We'll go down to a local Wal-Mart, get some cheesy clothes and shoes like most middle Americans wear, and then we'll stop at the pound and pick up a Labrador . When we look the part we'll go to a nice old country bar in middle America , and we'll show them that we really enjoy the countryside and show admiration and respect for the hard working people living there."A few days later, all decked out and with the requisite Labrador at heel, they set off from New York in a westerly direction. Eventually they arrived at just the place they were looking for. With dog in tow they walk into the bar. They step up to the bar and the bartender takes a step back and says,"Aren't you Bill and Hillary Clinton?"Hillary answers, "Yes we are, and what a lovely town you have here. We were just passing through and Bill suggested that we stop and take in some local color."They then order a couple of cocktails from the bartender and proceed to drink them down, all the while chatting up a storm with anyone who would listen. All of a sudden, the bar room door opens and a grizzled old farmer comes in. He walks up to the Labrador , lifts its tail and looks underneath, shrugs his shoulders and walks out the door. A few moments later, in came another old farmer. He walks up to the dog, lifts its tail, looks underneath, scratches his head, and then leaves the bar.Over the course of the next hour or so, another four or five farmers came in, lifted the dog's tail, and went away looking puzzled.
Eventually Hillary and Bill could stand it no longer and called the bartender over "'Tell me", said Hillary, "Why did all those old farmers come in and look under the dog's tail like that? Is it some sort of old custom?""Good Lord no", said the bartender, "Its just that someone has told them that there was a Labrador in here with two assholes!"
